The fire broke out on a boat that was tied to the end of a pier at a marina on the 7500 block of Brightwater Beach Rd. in Glen Burnie shortly before 11:15 a.m., the Anne Arundel Fire Department said.
Firefighters began to douse the blaze while searching the vessel for possible occupants living aboard.
Crews continued to extinguish the fire and determined that the boat was clear of other occupants.
The fire caused minor damage to the adjacent ship, the AACFD said. Its origin is under investigation.
